Category Name Roles Term of Office
Co-opted Mr. R. J. Davey

Chair of Council

My name is John Davey, Chair of Governors at Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy School where I have been a Co-opted governor for 5 years. I was previously Clerk to the Governors at the school.

Throughout my working life I worked for Staffordshire County Council, mostly within the Education Department supporting schools in the Uttoxeter and Moorlands area. It was here that I gained my knowledge of the education system and a desire to help children.

I am also a local church leader, with a special interest in working with children. This includes a puppet ministry, working with a team delivering Open the Book and running a Messy Church. My other interests include a passion for conservation, wildlife and the natural world.

Mr. J. A. Walker

LAC Member

My name is John Walker and I became a school governor at Tynsel Parkes
School in 2009. My aim was to help out in the local community and I decided that volunteering as a school governor would be a positive move. Some years later I am still enjoying my role. More importantly, I now understand how vital it is to support the school staff, who work extremely hard, and ensure they have the resources needed to educate our children to a high standard and give them a good start in life.
If you would like to have a say in children's education and have some spare time, please consider becoming a school governor. On a personal note I like to keep fit and play walking football very slowly.

Mrs. J. M. Meikle

LAC Member

My name is Janet Meikle. Until recently, I was the Vice Principal and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) at Tynsel Parkes, retiring in August 2017. Retirement has given me more time for my hobbies such as walking and swimming, as well as quality time to spend with my own family which includes my husband, three daughters and two grandsons. However, I am very excited about remaining a part of the Tynsel Parkes family so that I can continue to use my skills and experience to contribute to the development and the aspirations of the academy and its community.
