Special Educational Needs

At Tynsel Parkes CE Primary Academy we are constantly looking at how we can improve the provision for our pupils. We are committed to offering an inclusive education which provides all children with the opportunities to achieve their potential; personally, socially, emotionally and academically in all areas of the curriculum. However for some children, who have a special educational need further additional support may be required to help them achieve.

The categories of special educational need as set out in the SEN Code of Practice (2014) are:

  • Communication and interaction
  • Cognition and learning
  • Social, emotional and mental health difficulties
  • Sensory and/or physical needs
